What chemicals do you use in my system?
We use a biodegradable, plant-based insecticide called pyrethrum, derived from chrysanthemum flowers. It’s safe, highly effective, and approved for residential use.
How safe is pyrethrum?
Pyrethrum is one of the safest insecticides available. It’s non-toxic to humans, pets, and plants when used as directed, and it breaks down quickly in sunlight—making it ideal for outdoor use.
Will insecticides with pyrethrum harm my pets?
Nope! Pyrethrum is pet-safe once dry. We recommend keeping animals indoors during application, but they can safely return once the mist settles (typically after 15–30 minutes).
Is pyrethrum effective against other insects?
Yes! In addition to mosquitoes, pyrethrum also helps eliminate:
- Gnats
- Fleas
- Wasps
- Roaches
- Spiders
- Other common flying and crawling pests

Is there such a thing as pet-safe mosquito repellent?
Yes, there are pet-safe mosquito repellents available for outdoor mosquito control. These repellents are made with natural and safe ingredients that effectively repel mosquitoes without causing harm to your pets or the environment.
How does the system work?
The Mosquito Management Misting System is specifically designed for mosquito control. Installed around your outdoor areas or in your backyard, spraying fine mists of insecticide through its nozzles to eliminate mosquitoes on contact.
The system is built specifically for mosquito control, using broad-spectrum insecticides that are also effective against other insects like flies, spiders and wasps. The system can be timed to automatically spray at preferred times and intervals.
What is a backyard mosquito system and how does it work?
A backyard mosquito system, also known as a mosquito spray system, is a device that sprays a fine mist of insecticide over a large area to kill or repel mosquitoes. It is a system for backyard use, allowing for regular and consistent mosquito control.
How long does a typical installation take?
Most mosquito misting system installations are completed in one day. Larger or more complex properties may take slightly longer, but we always work efficiently to get your system up and running quickly.
What is the system warranty?
We offer a limited warranty on all parts and installation. Coverage includes system components, programming units, and our workmanship. Ask us about extended maintenance plans for added peace of mind.
How often should the system run?
We customize the timer settings based on your property size and needs, but most systems mist 2–3 times per day for 30–45 seconds per cycle. You can also activate manual misting with the push of a button.
How long before I need a tank refill?
It depends on how often your system runs. Most tanks last 3 to 6 weeks before needing a refill. We’ll set up a refill schedule that works best for your usage and season.
What kind of maintenance does the system require?
Very little! We recommend:
- Checking the tank fluid monthly
- Inspecting nozzles every few months
- Scheduling a seasonal system check to ensure optimal performance
